In the alleys of the Old Town, a Stockholm opens up where the Middle Ages still lies close to the surface. Between masonry, covered passages, and narrow courtyards, a city is shaped by craftsmanship, trade, and a strictly regulated daily life. Seafarers, merchants, and city workers lived closely here – near the water, the church, and the law.

Traces of goldsmiths, purse makers, and surgeons can still be found in stone and rooms. In churches and chapels, the memory of smoke from wax and resin, of prayer and everyday life lingers, while guild halls and council chambers bear witness to the law
